FROM START TO FINISH

The firm’s administrative and commercial teams are structured to provide full support to the legal team, from case opening to case closing, from due diligence and money laundering safeguards to billing and debt collection.

Solicitors have no involvement in file administration, leaving them free to focus entirely on the legal work.  Similarly,  Partners can focus on their business development activities, and can provide legal services to their clients or delegate to the DJB Solicitors.

Resources for all Solicitors

All resources are provided by the Business Services Centre, thereby maintaining conformity of operation and consistency of standards.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & MATTER ADMIN

The Business Management Team take away as much of the non-chargeable duties on matters as possible, allowing our solicitors to focus on the legal work. This includes file opening, due diligence in relation to new clients and obtaining security for costs. Solicitors are free to start work as soon as the file has been opened.

ACCOUNTS FUNCTIONS & INVOICING 

The Accounts Department deal with all of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (SAR) requirements and provide the full range of accounts service required by a real estate law firm.

FULL ADMIN & SECRETARIAL SUPPORT

All solicitors are provided with digital dictation software and can use the DJB legal secretarial pool for the full range of secretarial services.

COMMUNICATIONS, COMPUTER SYSTEMS & IT

DJB employ remote working technologies to ensure the full range of standard software is available to all solicitors, wherever they choose to locate. VoIP telephone equipment will be provided so that all solicitors have their own business direct dial. This includes our DMS in which we maintain our legal files electronically to ensure our solicitors are able to work anywhere.

LEGAL SUPPORT

The Legal Support Team take care of all routine tasks to support lawyers, including searches, dealings with the Land Registry, preparing draft SDLT forms and the management of deeds.

DEEDS MANAGEMENT & STORAGE

We have full facilities for deeds management and storage within our deeds registry.

CPD TRAINING 

DJB is committed to protecting and developing excellence. Our learning portal and our in-house property law lectures, delivered by our Head of Legal Training, are dedicated to professional development and are CPD compliant.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE

DJB’s Compliance Leadership Team cover all compliance requirements. Along with this, we take care of all pre-checkers, undertakings and file opening, relieving lawyers from doing this. Our awards apply to all our solicitors.

PROVISION OF LIBRARY RESOURCES & KNOWLEDGE SERVICES

All solicitors have access to the full range of online resources and legal texts.

OUR OFFICES

All solicitors have the flexibility to work where they want. Any of our three offices in the UK are available as a space to work, meet colleagues or host clients.

HMRC IR35

Successive audits have demonstrated a high level of compliance with the policy guidelines, validating the off-payroll status of all solicitors contracted to work for DJB.  We continually work hard to ensure our arrangements with all solicitors do not fall within HMRC Policy IR35.  We will continue to be audited annually to ensure ongoing compliance.  All our solicitors are self-employed and are therefore responsible for filing their own tax returns.

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

We have a team of Business Managers who support you in all business development activities. This includes everything from strategy planning and forecasting, to pitch/proposal preparation, to bespoke marketing and PR and beyond. They also work with you to onboard new clients and develop strong client relationships.

MARKETING, ADVERTISING & PR

As a firm we engage in a number of brand raising and marketing activities throughout the year, Client Partners benefit from these activities and often take part if they want to.

SUPPORT FOR BID & PROPOSAL CREATION

Client Partners will be assisted in the creation of proposals and bids to support their business development activities.

CORE SOLICITORS

The expertise of the Core Solicitors cover the full spectrum of real estate legal services and is continually expanded and deepened. This team are available to the Client Partners to support their clients and to feature in proposals and bids.

ACCREDITATIONS

The firm is Lexcel accredited and holds ISO 9001, 14001, 22301 and 27001 accreditations and Investors In People (IIP). These accreditations are often required by many corporate and public sector clients to be accepted to their panels. Maintenance of these accreditations is undertaken by the firm on behalf of the Client Partners and Client Directors.

CRM & INTELLIGENCE SYSTEM

Access to a full bespoke intelligence system, including a CRM and consolidated business development tools, is provided to all Client Partners.

DIRECTORIES, RANKINGS & AWARDS

Considerable resources are applied by the firm to ensure we are continually recognised as a leader in our field by the leading directories and awarding bodies.

PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS

Client Partners are provided with the full range of promotional materials, including business cards and brochures, to aid you. Additionally, as and when you require, customised brochures and pitch documents will be produced for you.
